Brief description
The course explains why DNA is called the “blueprint of life”; what is a “DNA fingerprint”; how do scientists clone DNA; what can DNA teach you about your family history; are Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) safe; is it possible to revive dinosaurs by cloning their DNA? DNA Decoded answers these questions and more. Along the way, I also learn about the practical techniques that scientists use to analyze our genetic risks, to manipulate DNA, and to develop new treatments for a range of different diseases. Then, step into our virtual lab to perform your own forensic DNA analysis of samples from a crime scene and solve a murder.

This course is very interesting. The two instructors teaching the course interact with each other. The course is informative and mainly teaches you more about how DNA works, how DNA is being utilised now as well as the future possibility of using DNA. This course has a module that very briefly talks about the possible future of this course but is not very comprehensive as of how taking this course can possibly allow you to have access to the career in the future. This course will be useful if you want to learn more about DNA in general. It is not so useful in guiding you to find the career path you may want or be interested in taking.
